Bridge2Uni supports blind and visually impaired pupils as they prepare for university life.
The Bridge2Uni project is coordinated at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) and carried out in cooperation with the following partner organisations:
- Julius‑Maximilian University Würzburg
- Politecnico di Milano
- Centre for the Blind St. Raphael Bolzano
- State School Centre for Hearing and Visual Impairments Linz
Bridge2Uni is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, which supports cooperation projects in higher education and inclusive education across Europe.
Through this partnership, Bridge2Uni combines expertise in inclusive teaching, visual impairment, and higher education guidance to support blind and visually impaired pupils in their transition to university.
Through structured peer counselling, pupils can get to know university‑level study, practise using assistive technology, and receive practical advice from current students who have similar experiences.
Students can also take part as peer advisors, gaining experience in mentoring while supporting others in their transition from school to higher education.
